Crystal Sound Baths with Verity Megan

Thursday 7th November (7 - 8.30pm) | Friday 6th December (7 - 8.30pm)
Friday 7th February (7pm - 8.30pm) | Sunday 9th March (6.30 - 8pm)

Sound Baths are an all-encompassing, full-body experience that relax body and mind, reduce stress and lower cortisol levels. A highly effective form of meditation, they are an excellent way of soothing worries, and releasing unconscious emotions or tension - the waves and vibrations fully immerse you in sound.

This Sound Bath will be led by Verity Megan, using her beautiful Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls – each made from ethically-mined quartz blended with crystals, semi-precious gemstones, minerals and precious metals. Each individual bowl is unique, and so each set of bowls creates a unique experience.

This sound session offers a moment to pause, reflect, and realign. By drawing inspiration from nature and our own rhythms, we can move into winter with renewed strength and an open heart. It’s time to release the weight of the day, nurture your body, and wind down into deep rest, preparing yourself for the season ahead.

About Verity:

Verity is a sound therapist and yoga teacher, trained in Well Woman Yoga Therapy, mediation and more - who grew up in Arundel, travelled far and wide, and has recently returned to practice in West Sussex. Community lies at the heart of everything she does. She is passionate about bringing people together in beautiful, nurturing environments.

What to Expect:
- Crystal Alchemy Sound Bath
- Gentle guided meditation to lead you in and ease you out of the sound
- A theme for contemplation to explore within yourself
- Optional sharing circle with space for reflection and integration
- Oracle cards, healthy homemade treats, and herbal tea from foraged wildflowers

A Man’s Guide to Menopause: Talk with Q&A

Thursday 17th October - 7.30pm

Clinic51 regularly offers information talks on menopause to groups, businesses, educational settings, and more. We welcome all people, but find that 99% of attendees are women* who experience menopause for themselves.

Men* have reported a reluctance to attend for fear of intruding on an important female space or due to embarrassment. We recognise and appreciate that many men are respectfully giving women the space to talk and learn about menopause, understanding that such opportunities are limited.

Often, women don’t fully understand what’s happening to them during menopause, so how can we expect men to? And more importantly, how can we expect them to know what to do to help? We want to include men in this conversation, so they too feel supported, equipped to learn, and free to ask questions.

Dr Rhianydd McGlone will help you to understand the hormonal and physiological changes that are happening during this time, and what that means in terms of symptoms, as well as what treatments are available. Coach & Facilitator, Helen Cowper, will also be on hand to talk about how you can support the women in your home or workplace, with plenty of real-world experience and examples. They’ll cover physical and psychological symptoms, the impact that these can have on intimacy and relationships, how they might affect women in the workplace, and more.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and no expectation of any prior knowledge - so these can be as basic or as complex as you like. All men are welcome - be they husbands, sons, managers and colleagues.

(*For clarity we use the words 'woman' and 'man' to mean cis-gendered women who experience menopause for themselves, and cis-gendered men who do not. We recognise that not all people fall into these groups, but all are welcome at Clinic51.

4-week Midlife Metabolic Reset (online programme)

Sunday 18th February - Thursday 14th March

A 4 week nutrition and lifestyle programme developed specifically to help midlife women regain energy, cut cravings and lose weight the healthy way.

It is well known that as women hit middle age their sex hormone levels reduce. What is less well known is that their metabolism can slow down as well. This can make it harder to balance blood sugar levels, manage stress and get a good night’s sleep. It can also affect how you handle certain foods and makes it hard to keep to a healthy weight.

Designed by Audrey Backhouse, The Nutri Yogi, the easy and fun 4-week MIDLIFE METABOLIC RESET Programme will help you wake-up your metabolism and support your key midlife hormones at the same time.

The programme will launch with 'Prep Session to help you get Ready' on Sunday 18th February, followed by 4 LIVE talks with Q&A (recorded for catch up). It includes a nutrition plan personalised by your hormone type and weight goals, a Midlife Metabolic Reset e-book, a Facebook health coaching support group, weekly meal plan guides, and recipe booklets.

Breathe with Ocean Breathwork

Thursday 1st February: 7pm - 8.30pm

Come and enjoy the transformational power of breathwork in a professionally guided practice with Becs, founder of Ocean Breathwork. Becs will teach you the ancient art of Pranayama (Yogic breathwork) and the modern scientific explanation of its benefits. This knowledge assists in leading you into a deeper breathing experience and meditation.  The workshop will include a 30 minute talk followed by 1 hour of practice.  Becs offers a warm, accessible and meaningful experience delivered with a down-to-earth approach.

Breathwork can be experienced in many different capacities including: functional breathing for improved health; endurance breathwork for resilience and sports performance; or transformational breathing for trauma release and spiritual growth. Becs believes all of these pathways into breathwork are incredibly important.  The popularisation of breathwork modalities in recent years means that new research is presenting itself, proving the science behind what the Yogis have known and practiced for thousands of years.

Breathwork today is needed more than ever, we lead hectic lifestyles that are swamped with sensory overload. Breathwork is a gateway to our autonomic nervous system, which influences all our other systems including respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine and immune systems. However, the way we breathe not only affects our physical bodies but in yogic philosophy it works across all layers of our being. Breathwork can be a powerful and trauma-releasing experience, providing personal insights and deep inner connection.

How to sit better, differently and less: Cecilie Jacobsen of Core Coaching

Thursday 25th January: 7.30pm - 9pm

Sitting (too much!) - we all do it, but do you want to learn to sit better, differently and less?

Few “modern" inventions have a bigger impact on our health than ‘the chair’! Most of us spend more time sitting than we do anything else (an average of 9 hours). We know that sitting too much isn’t great but do you know the true costs to your physical & mental health?  What does hours spent in a chair do to your alignment, pelvic floor, breathing, mood, energy to name a few?

This is a super practical session perfect for anyone who spends more than a few hours a day sitting (hello everyone!!).  This is for YOU if you want to improve your physical & mental health with minimum investment!

Exercising is great but with most of us spending hours in repetitive positions our bodies are not primed to move well when we take it for a run, play sports or even doing a basic thing like walking. Not only do you not get the most out of your exercise, you’re also increasing the risk of injury. So come along and be inspired to move more without having to find the time, money and motivation to exercise. Low investment - high impact!

Tickets £20
